Finally met his end:
Died in the wreck of the Whydah when it capsized in the Atlantic; 146 pirates drowned, and the only two survivors were captured and tried.

Biggest myths:

Trivia: Black Sam Bellamy was known to entertain his crew with ornate prose, and considered himself a master at oration. His concern for the well-being of prisoners and his crew set him aside as a captain.

In Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, the Captain of the Edinburgh Trader is called Bellamy.

There are a number of things I could comment on here but I will restrict myself to pointing out that 102 bodies were recovered from the wreck of the Whydah and remains have recently been recovered of one additional for a total of 103. We will probably never know how many survivors there were from this ship.
