Dominica travelHave you been to Dominica?

Ah yes I, Annie Cook, have been to the exotic isle of Dominica & the memories be ever so sweet! It were my favorite island on a 6-island hop off a cruising ship. The best part were the trek thru the rain forest. Then of course it rained, soaking us to the bone with the refreshing nectar of the steamy jungle.

We climbed the steep cliffs to see the Trafalgar Falls cascading side by side with a rainbow between them & then took a dip down in the cool waters of the Emerald Pool at the bottom of another 40 ft. falls. Not being shy about disrobing in front of the hoards of tourists standing on the platforms above, I & my sister put on quite a show for those not accustomed to our natural version of swimming attire.

To those who stood agog I say - You missed so very much by not joining us in that pool. The crystal waters were ever so cool & soothing to the body, mind & spirit! Then after you left, oh after you left, the pirates they came & my captain did join me in the pool . He were not shy & it were the first time we were together in such a way. But never were it the last!

Dominica is an amazing place to visit, and Ma Bass' Guest House is a perfect place to experience it from. Spotlessly clean, in the centre of town, a shared kitchen and lounge with tv... views of the city and harbour from the front balcony... everything from a shared dorm to private room with your own bathroom. Not fancy by any means, but reasonable, with freindly hostess and husband, and wonderful sons who can be hired on the weekend to take you around the island...

First of all Dominica is one of the most beautiful locations in the world!
I was just there a few months ago and my mind was blown by the natural beauty and amazing energy of the place. We stayed at Cocoa Cottages up in the mountains by Trafalgar Falls. A perfect base for most of what Dominica has to offer ie hiking, swimming in the waterfalls, diving etc. They offer professional canyoning trips through some of the most hidden parts of the magical island. It is awesome.
Cocoa Cottages has 5 or 6 very private rooms and a common place to have excellent meals made with fresh ingrediaents from all over the island. Check it out...... and Say hi to Charm!
