Is this story seriously for real,or made up by MB and editors themselves? Cuz I've searched the net and I couldn't find any information regardng captain henry steel aside from those that came out from CBS itself.

There is a Steel Point named for him in Sydney. Also, in an 1831 Superior Courts of New South Wales case, a witness mentioned a Captain Henry Steel as the gaol keeper. This would be after the Captain's time. However, Steel Point was named way before Pirate Master. Was is named after the pirate or the gaolkeeper? More likely a pirate.

What a great legend to expand on for a reality show, cudos to you mark on that, and look forward to the show, i hope it is as intense as survivor, I do believe that there is a little bit of pirate in all of us, and i think Rupert would be the ultimate pirate lol.........

Hey man how about something original instead of the pirate bandwagon that Disney is already cashing in on?! Oh I got this great idea! its all about terrorists that drop bombs in several states in our country and the drama that ensues in a little town called JERICHO! We dont need another tired ass reality show!

Truth in it or not, the tale is put together very well. The legend of Captain Henry Steel is an incredible base for this series. Well done.

There is a SYDNEY HARBOUR named Steel Point - After Captain Henry Steel. Also known as Shark Point. The reference is dated June 29, 2001 on an boatingoz dot com site. I have checked all my pirate reference books (nearly too many to count) and have no mention.
First Rupert, then tribal at the wrecked ship - now this. Perfect!

This legend is really fascinating even if it is make believe. Hopefully they will include more information as the show goes on. I have heard of Black Bart and Blackbeard and Calico Jack even couple female pirates Anne Bonny, Mary Reed, never heard of Henry Steel. Show looks intriguing and will be fun to watch.

Fascinating reading! Quality leadership was important in the pirate world. He must have been a very clever person to think of such a plan to hide the treasure. I can see how this tale will contribute to an exciting reality television adventure.
