For any ship to sail the Caribbean, she must have a Captian. The Pirate Master Code discribes the process for selecting a Captain and Distributing Booty.

• If there is no current Captain, or the Captain's expedition loses, the expedition crew that discovers the treasure elects a Captain from their midst. This is done through popular vote.
  
• As there has been no tie to this point, it has not been revealed how this is resolved.
• If the Captain is part of the winning expedition crew, he retains the rank of Captain.
  
• The Captain receives half of the TOTAL treasure found on the expedition.

• The Captain then selects two Officers from the remaining expedition team. The Captain is allowed to keep his officers, or trade them out if he deems it needed.
  
• The two officers that have been selected by the Captain receive half of the remaining treasure to split between them.
• The remaining amount of gold is then distributed evenly amongst the expedition crew.
