Real Name: Stede Bonnet Born: approx. 1688
Hailed from: Bridgetown, Barbados Died: Dec. 10, 1718

Early life:He was known as Major Stede Bonnet. He came from an upright English family and possessed a liberal education. Also known as a "man of letters". Later in his life ,he owned a sugar plantation.

How he became a pirate:Some say it was to escape his nagging wife. His neighbors were shocked when he turned to piracy.He was considered an amateur pirate. He also bought his shipin 1717. this was odd since most pirates stole on . He renamed it the Revenge .He paided his crew out of his pocket . the lack of a contract kept him from being deposed as captain by his crew.

Finally met his end:He was captured by Colonel William Rhett and stood trial in Charleston on November10,1718. He was hung on December 10,1718 in Charleston.
