Hard to Swallow

"My personality can be hard for people to swallow," Alexis says at an earlier point in the evening. "But that's their problem, not mine." And so she is spit back out to sea for a bad pirate attitude.

There was also no love lost between her and Joe Don. And when Joe Don told Azmyth he was a good man for voting Alexis off, the new captain shook his head almost violently, clearly uncomfortable with Joe Don's approval.

"I gotta keep rolling," Alexis says as she floats away into the night.

It seems clear that Alexis was unhappy on the Picton Castle, but could she also have sacrificed herself just to get Joe Don removed from power? Her lackluster performance at the Expedition may suggest a pact, a decision to put Joe Don on the losing crew.

Louie Gets Revenge

The show opens with Louie working pacts behind-the-scenes to out Captain Joe Don. We see him talking alone with Kendra, and then alone with Sean. "I'm going to crush him and I'm going to write a letter to his momma in his blood," laughs Louie. Joe Don is aware of Louie's rage, noting that Louie has it out for him. So it's not without some dramatic payoff that we finally watch Louie get his way. "This is the end of the reign of terror," he declares gleefully.

But things are just finally getting interesting. Joe Don survives, and so does Cheryl, which leaves a rather large counter-alliance still intact as the numbers continue to dwindle. If Jay hews to the former leadership, then Joe Don will have a team of four in future votes.

The question is, can he last long enough or unseat Azmyth, the most popular man on the ship? We know the new captain commands loyalty from Jupiter and others like Nessa.

But where does Jay really stand? Is Captain Azmyth's English accent too much for him to stomach?
